Your body wants to heal itself. It wants to function properly and you can help it do so by stop putting junk into (and on) your system! Chemicals and artificial junk from food like pesticides, artificial dyes and colors, highly processed oils in fake (fast) food, highly processed food in general, refined sugar... all of these things bog down the different detoxification systems in your body and slow or halt the healing process. When you bog down your systems and organs, your body has to work to filter out these toxins instead of on healing your body or keeping it in homeostasis(balance). Granted, that's what the body is designed to do, but you can either help it by feeding it REAL whole foods and not slathering your body/hair/skin with all kinds of chemicals daily, or you can keep bogging it down and then keep wondering why you're always sick, tired, inflamed, and unhealthy. This is especially important for children. Imagine a child as a brand new car. They have shiny new engines, gears and systems, and fresh oil. All the parts are new and working perfectly, as they were designed to do. But then you start putting water instead of gas in the gas tank, you use old, cheap, dirty oil instead of fresh oil, you throw tacks in the driveway and then wonder why it doesn't drive as fast or smoothly with 4 flat tires. Are you smelling what I'm stepping in? No? Okay...just eat real food. Give your body the tools it needs to work properly (good food, enough sleep, stress management and movement) and stop bogging it down with junk that you're either putting in your body or on to your body. If you need help learning to read labels on your food or on your personal care items (lotions, shampoo, soap, makeup, body wash) let me know! I'm happy to help you figure it out.
